The Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department will be undergoing an inspection from the Insurance Service Office Tuesday through Thursday.
According to Fire Chief Bruce James, the purpose of the inspection is to review the ISO rating of the fire department to see if any changes need to be made.
James says part of the inspection may require some flow testing of fire hydrants in the area covered by the department.
During these testing days, James advises residents to use caution when using water, especially before washing clothes or bathing.
He says residents should let their water run a few minutes to clear any sediments that may be disturbed during the testing.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the department said in a statement.
If water discoloration does not clear up after running it several minutes, residents are advised to contact the Bradley-Prosperity Fire Department or Beckley Water Co. for assistance in clearing their lines.
“We appreciate your patience during this period,” James said.
Testing is expected to be complete by 2 p.m. each day.
