State Police say they began receiving complaints a year ago abut a man purchasing drinks for females at Logan’s Steakhouse and Billy Joe’s bar in Beckley while pretending to be a state trooper.
Sgt. M.A. Painter arrested Kevin C. Farley, 38, of Midway, on Thursday on two counts of impersonating an officer.
Painter said the incidents are believed to have started at Logan’s Steakhouse in Beckley in 2008.
State Police want the public to know Farley is not a state trooper.
Anyone who witnessed Farley claiming to be a state trooper is asked to contact Painter at 304-256-6700.
Farley was arraigned before Raleigh County Magistrate Greg Tanner and released on $500 bond. If convicted, he will face up to six months in jail on each count and a fine of up to $2,000.
