By Jackie Ayres

An SUV ran off the roadway on Interstate 64 near Sam Black Church interchange and overturned Thursday.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department responded to the single-vehicle accident, where the driver, Carl Gibson of Meadow Bridge, said he experienced mechanical problems that resulted in loss of control of the vehicle, which caused him to run off the roadway.

The investigating officer, Deputy D.W. Hedrick, was assisted by the Smoot and Clintonville fire departments and Quinwood Ambulance. Gibson walked away from the accident without any injuries, according to authorities.
