Three people were injured in an accident Saturday on Robert C. Byrd Drive in Beckley, city police said.
Jessica White, 24, of Charleston, was driving a 2004 Pontiac SUV south on Byrd Drive just before Veterans Drive at about 3:19 p.m. when she decided to make a U-turn in the middle of the road, police said.
A pickup truck driven by Lewis Prince, 38, of MacArthur was traveling in the same lane behind White when she made the U-turn. Police say Prince’s truck impacted the Pontiac and the truck landed on the guard rail.
Lewis was transported to Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital, and White and Dominique Sanders of Charleston, a passenger in the Pontiac, were transported to Raleigh General Hospital for injuries.
The investigation is ongoing by Cpl. Roy Redden. He says citations are pending.
