A three-year-old was injured while riding on an ATV in Raleigh County Saturday night, authorities said.
The accident on Peachtree Road in Naoma was reported at 7:29 p.m., according to the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center. The extent of the child’s injuries was unknown, but the child was possibly ejected from the ATV.
The child, whose gender was unknown, was taken to Raleigh General Hospital, the EOC said. Because of weather conditions around the Raleigh/Boone county line, HealthNet determined it was too hazardous to land a helicopter.
State Police was handling the investigation, the EOC said.
