Teen arrested in Nettie armed robbery at store

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in a Nicholas County armed robbery, authorities said.

The Summersville area teen was arrested Monday by members of the Central West Virginia Drug and Violent Crime Task Force in connection with a Jan. 7 armed robbery at the Nettie Go-Mart, according to the task force. Authorities said no other information would be released, and further investigation was pending.

Further inquiries were directed to the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department. No one at the sheriff’s department could be reached for comment Wednesday.

Authorities said earlier the incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. when an unidentified male walked into the store, pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money. In addition to money, the suspect also reportedly stole two cartons of cigarettes.
