Mac’s Toy Fund still in need of donations to meet goal

The toys have been chosen, the convention center cleared, but Mac’s Toy Fund isn’t over yet. Funds are still needed to pay for the event put on Saturday for nearly 3,000 Raleigh County children.

The 77th annual toy distribution provided children who might not otherwise had presents for Christmas with a variety of gifts, including handmade wood toys, dolls, balls, games and much more.

Although edging closer to the $25,000 necessary to pay for the toy giveaway, Mac’s still needs donations to meet that goal. The money is used to pay for new toys, parts for bike repair, materials that inmates at FCI-Beckley used make to handcrafted wooden toys, fruit and coats.

Donations can be mailed to Mac’s Toy Fund, P.O. Box 2398, Beckley 25802, or they can be dropped off at Chick-fil-A at The Galleria, Eisenhower Drive. Donations will be taken through New Year’s.
