Fridays in the Park set to begin today in Beckley

BECKLEY — Beckley Renaissance’s 23rd annual Friday in the Park series will be weekly from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Aug. 30, weather permitting, at Jim Word Memorial Park on Neville Street.

Food vendors will offer lunch items for sale. A variety of music will be presented during the season including country, jazz, folk, oldies, gospel, bluegrass, and dance. Celebrity DJs from local radio stations will emcee the concerts.

Attendees can preview Theatre West Virginia shows on June 21, July 19 and Aug. 16.

The Boy Scout Jazz band will perform July 19 during the National Jamboree week.

The Wednesdays in the Square concert series will take place during June at Shoemaker Square.
