Single slate of candidates vying for Lewisburg offices

— Only a single slate of candidates is running for office this spring in Lewisburg, rendering the June 11 election in the Greenbrier County seat a formality.

The city’s Citizens’ Party nominated incumbent Shannon Ninnemann-Beatty for the office of recorder. The party’s nominees for the three city council slots up for election this year are incumbents Josh Baldwin and Mark Etten and political newcomer Heather Blake, who is seeking the seat now occupied by Andrew Evans. Evans chose not to run for re-election.

Lewisburg’s People’s Party did not field a candidate slate. This marks at least the third election cycle in which the party has been dormant.

Applications for absentee ballots are available at the city recorder’s office; they may be picked up in person or requested via telephone  at 304-645-3776, ext. 121, or mail (942 Washington St. W., Lewisburg WV 24901). Mail requests will be accepted through June 5.

Early in-person voting will be conducted at City Hall weekdays from May 29 to June 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays, June 1 and June 8, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
