BECKLEY —
Two endowments benefiting Christian education are held by the Beckley Area Foundation, the John L. and Virginia Wilcox Scholarship Fund and the John L. and Virginia Wilcox Christian Education Fund.
Those eligible for scholarships include students needing assistance to attend a private Christian school (K-12), students graduating from either a Christian-based home school or private Christian school seeking further education, students graduating from any secondary school who desire to attend a Christian college or university, and older students who want to pursue further Christian training/education.
Christian schools needing equipment or physical improvement or home-school families needing books or supplies are permitted to apply for a grant from the Wilcox Christian Education Fund.
March 1 is the deadline for both of the Wilcox scholarship and grant applications. Applications for each may be downloaded from the Beckley Area Foundation website publications page at www.bafwv.org or by contacting staff at 304-253-3806.
For other scholarships available through BAF, an updated catalog and application information will be available March 1 at the foundation’s website.
