— The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Blue Jay Road area of Scarbro.

Police say several people were at the home at the time of the incident and the front door was open. A male subject walked through the living room, past the victim’s stepdaughter and three other people, and into the homeowner’s bedroom area.

The 53-year-old homeowner told police the suspect demanded money, but he told him he had none.

The suspect fired one round into the floor of the residence and said, “I’m not kidding. I’m serious.”

The suspect turned and walked out of the residence, not speaking or interacting with anyone else in the residence.

“We do not have a lot of information to go on at this point,” Sheriff Steve Kessler said.

Anyone with further information about this incident is asked to call Fayette County 911 Center at 304-574-1610 or CrimeStoppers at 304-255-7867.
