Raleigh County Schools is excited to have a dynamic and energetic guest speaker next week to talk with teachers, students and parents.
David Weber, an internationally recognized speaker, author and trainer, will talk about helping students make good life choices and encourage them to stay in school.
Weber will visit each of the county’s four high schools with a program entitled “Rock Your Future” and will offer a program for parents and students on Nov. 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Tamarack.
Independence High School principal Chris Perkins, who is assisting with arrangements for Weber’s visit, said Weber will deliver two presentations of about an hour at each high school.
Weber’s goal is to challenge middle and high school students to make good choices, stay in school and avail themselves of all their educational options after high school. His website says not to expect some typical “stuffed shirt, coat and tie” presentation. Clad in jeans and armed with Silly String and $20 bills, Weber has figured out how to grab students’ attention to get the message of this program into their heads.
Perkins is hoping for a good turnout for the free evening program at Tamarack and encourages parents at all levels to consider attending.
Since 1987, Weber has been one of the country’s most sought after speakers. Speaking more than 150 times a year, his high energy and entertaining style have made him a crowd favorite. Not only has he spoken to tens of thousands of education professionals across the country, but his corporate clients include some of the best companies in the world.
Additionally, Weber is the author of “Sticks and Stones Exposed: The Power of Our Words,” the creator of The LifeTime Organizer (the world’s newest personal planner) and has been published in numerous trade publications.
