Authorities say a house fire that occurred in the Page-Kincaid area of Fayette County early Thursday may not have been accidental.
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a structure fire on W.Va. 61 near Glenco Hollow Road around 2:38 a.m. Thursday, Sheriff Steve Kessler said.
The Loup Creek and Oak Hill fire departments put out the blaze. They then requested an arson investigator be dispatched to the scene, Kessler said.
A preliminary investigation of the scene indicated the fire was “probably” intentional, but “the exact cause and origin of the fire has not yet been established,” Kessler added.
The incident remains under investigation by Deputy W.K. Willis, fire and arson investigator for the sheriff’s office, and assistant state fire marshal Tony Domingo.
