The Beckley Gymnastics fire hydrant is still leading the fan-favorite competition for the October Sky Rocket Boys Festival, but there is still time to cast last-minute votes.
Currently in second place is Woodrow Wilson High School Marching Band, third is Janie Flanagan, fourth is Tomi Peck and fifth is New River Community and Technical College.
Votes can be cast online for $1 per vote. Voting ends Saturday at 6 p.m.
First, second and third place winners will be announced at Chili Night in Uptown Beckley Saturday night. Winners will receive a trophy.
Festival Director Scott Hill is urging everyone to cast their votes to help raise as much money as possible for the United Way of Southern West Virginia.
“We’re trying to help meet the need of the community.”
The United Way has set a fundraising goal of $500,000 and Hill said he hopes the Rocket Boys Festival does its part to help meet that goal.
