School may be canceled due to water line break

Due to a faulty saddle and valve on Rupert Water Co.’s main line, the Town of Rupert, about 560 customers, was without water Wednesday.

An official at the water plant said there is currently not a timeline for water restoration as workers are attempting to locate a valve replacement.

That means school may still be on hold today for two Greenbrier County schools within the town limits, Rupert Elementary and Western Greenbrier Middle School.

School was canceled at these two locations Wednesday morning due to the water outage, but a decision for Thursday had not been made as of Wednesday afternoon.
