A Clay County woman died Thursday in a vehicle crash in Nicholas County, police said.
Margaret Jane King, 20, of Clay, was driving a 1998 GMC Sonoma truck west on Bell Creek Road in Dixie around 7:25 a.m., when she drove over a patch of black ice and lost control of her vehicle, Nicholas County Sheriff Wetzel Bennett said.
The vehicle went “down the embankment, overturned and came to a rest on its top in the creek,” Bennett said.
“Ms. King was trapped in the vehicle and did receive fatal injuries,” Bennett added.
The accident is being investigated by Deputy M.A. Hanks.
