Motorist airlifted after wreck on Interstate 64

— A motorist was airlifted to a Charleston hospital Friday afternoon following a wreck on I-64 in Raleigh County near mile marker 131.

A delivery “box” truck crashed into the back of a logging truck that had broken down beside the roadway, according to dispatchers at the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center.

The incident occurred around 1:25 p.m. One lane was open at 3:30 p.m.

Raleigh sheriff’s deputies are investigating the accident.
