Hospice of Southern West Virginia (HSWV) will host its annual Community Memorial Service in three locations, Beckley, Hinton and Pineville, in November. The services are open to the public.
The title of this year’s service is “Then, Now and Always.” It is a way that families can come together and reflect on the life of their loved ones and to honor them. The memorial service will include an American Legion presentation for all veterans, a candlelighting ceremony, a video tribute and refreshments immediately following the service.
Anyone in the community is welcome to be a part of the services. One did not have to have a family member or a loved one on hospice services to participate.
“Each year HSWV is honored to serve the public with our Community Memorial Services,” said Harold Dobbins, HSWV social services director. “It is important in the grieving process to be given opportunities to remember and honor our loved ones. Our community memorial services allow an opportunity to reflect and respect those that have passed.”
The services will be held at the following places and times:
-- Monday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m., Cook Memorial Baptist Church, corner of W.Va. 10 and 97, Pineville.
-- Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m., Family Worship Center, Pinewood Drive, Beckley.
-- Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m., Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, 100 Park Ave., Hinton.
