— A traffic stop turned into a drug bust and piled charges onto one Greenbrier County man, according to Rainelle Police officials.

William Pierce Nutter of Charmco was pulled over for having a bad inspection sticker and no license plate on his vehicle, reports Rainelle Police Chief J.P. Stevens. Once he was pulled over, police say they found out Nutter didn’t have a driver’s license and there was no insurance on the vehicle.

Nutter also had alprazolam, diazepam and Lyrica with him, causing police to arrest him for three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, in addition to all of the traffic charges.

Stevens said Nutter told officers, “friends gave those pills to me.”

Nutter is in Southern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
