Two people have been arrested for stealing and forging checks in Rainelle.
Rainelle Police Chief J.P. Stevens reported Autumn Nicole McNeely and David Lee Bennett, both 22 and from Rainelle, admitted to stealing a checkbook from an elderly Rupert man and cashing checks on his account.
Stevens said each was charged with three counts of forgery, three counts of uttering and six counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.
McNeely is being held in Southern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond and Bennett is being held on a $10,000 cash only bond.
Stevens said Bennett has other charges pending through Rainelle and Greenbrier County.
