A Tennessee man was sentenced Thursday before U.S. District Judge Irene Berger to seven years and three months in federal prison for transporting and selling oxycodone in and around Beaver.
Doneven S. Bailey Jr., 49, of Chattanooga, Tenn., admitted conspiring with a known associate to illegally distribute oxycodone from June 8, 2001, through Feb. 3, 2012.
Individuals cooperating with law enforcement obtained 50 30-milligram oxycodone pills from Bailey and his associate while they were staying in a motel in Beaver, where they transported the drugs, prosecutors said.
Law enforcement officers executed a search warrant Feb. 3, 2012, at the motel and seized oxycodone pills and buy money.
Bailey admitted being responsible for distributing 3,200 30-milligram oxycodone pills over an eight-month period.
Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department conducted the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney John File handled the prosecution.
