Commission on Aging announces speakers for spring conference

The West Virginia Directors of Senior and Community Services (directors of aging programs and senior centers) from across West Virginia will host the April 17-18 Spring Conference at Twin Falls State Park in Wyoming County.

Ellie Hollander, national president and CEO of the Meals on Wheels Association of America, will make a luncheon presentation to the directors April 17 at noon.

Hollander will speak on the impact of our economy and federal legislation on the ability of Senior Program Agencies in their continuing effort to provide meals to our senior citizens.

“I eagerly look forward to meeting and learning from each of you to advance our partnership and take our organization to new heights, so no senior goes hungry.”

On April 18 at 6:30 p.m., Ramey Baker, chief senior adviser to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, will be the guest speaker.

For more information, call Jack Tanner, executive director of the Raleigh County Commission on Aging, at 304-255-1397.
