House fire extinguished

Area firefighters put out a fire in Naoma following a Wednesday explosion, but nobody was injured, Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center dispatchers reported Thursday.

The explosion was reported on Drew’s Creek just after 9 p.m., and the structure was fully engulfed in flames when responders from Whitesville, Clear Creek, Trap Hill and Coal River fire departments arrived. Firefighters had put out the flames by 11:40 p.m. Whitesville Emergency Medical Services crews also responded, but there were no injuries, dispatchers said.
