A Nicholas County man died Thursday night following an ATV accident in Fayette County, police said.
According to Fayette Sheriff Steve Kessler, Bradley Earl Legg, 24, of Mount Lookout, was driving an ATV on U.S. 60 in the Lookout area when the ATV apparently left the roadway and went up an embankment.
The ATV struck a tree at high speed and Legg was ejected, according to Kessler.
Legg was taken to Plateau Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Kessler stated that an ATV had been observed traveling at “a very high rate of speed” on the roadway just prior to the accident. He added alcohol may have been a factor.
Deputies W.K. Willis and S.K. Neal are investigating the incident.
