The Women’s Business and Training Center Thursday afternoon celebrated the grand opening of its new, more convenient location.
The Center had been in the West Virginia Workforce building, but is now just off of I-77, at 301B George St., Beckley. Tara Elder, director of the WB&TC explained the new facility has larger rooms for training and is easier for clients, who come from 11 area counties, to access. The WB&TC moved to its new location at the end of February.
“It’s been really good so far,” Elder said. “People like the facility.”
Several people from the community had been stopping by Thursday to tour the facility and watch the ribbon cutting. Elder said she expected more people from the community to visit the new location.
The WB&TC, a non-profit agency, assists primarily women to begin and expand businesses, and provides training to them and their employees.

The WB&TC will host the Ninth annual Empowering Women Conference June 6 at Tamarack Conference Center. The keynote speaker will be Jeanne Robertson.
