Firefighters from four departments responded to a fire Thursday evening at Beckley West Apartments.
Officials said the cause of the apartment fire was under investigation. Bradley-Prosperity Fire Chief Bruce James could not be reached for details.
A Mount Hope firefighter said the fire “looked like it was concentrated around the downstairs kitchen, but we won’t know anything for sure until later on.”
Firefighters pumped water through a portal that was cut into the roof.
Apartment resident Helen Wiggins said, “I have not even been home all day so I don’t know what happened, but I can tell that I don’t have anything left.”
The Bradley-Prosperity, Mount Hope, Mabscott and Oak Hill fire departments responded to the scene, along with Jan-Care Ambulance.
There was no immediate reports of injuries.
