— Nicholas County sheriff’s deputies say they arrested two Kanawha County residents who allegedly had methamphetamine manufacturing material and a stolen ATV.
Christopher Michael Whittington, 34, of 412 Lore St., St. Albans; and Danae E. Cyrus, 37, of South Charleston, are both charged with attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory and possession of stolen property, according to a release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department.
Whittington and Cyrus were arrested last Saturday, the release stated. They are being held in Central Regional Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond.
Around 9 a.m. last Saturday, Nicholas County deputies were told a vehicle was stuck in the road in Holcomb, the release stated. Deputies found the truck and found out the driver, Whittington, did not have a valid license.
Officers were given consent to search the truck, and they discovered a large quantity of Sudafed pills and drug paraphernalia, the release stated. They contacted members of the Central West Virginia Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, and a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle.
During the search, officers seized items used in methamphetamine manufacture and an ATV in the truck bed, the release stated. The ATV had been reported stolen in Kanawha County the previous day.
