Veterans of Foreign Wars State Senior Vice Commander Terry Scarboro, at right, speaks as Congressman Nick Rahall and friends and family of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jeremy Alexander Brown look on at Mabscott Christian Church. A statue and a bridge were dedicated to him Friday.
Brown, a native of Mabscott, died July 3, 2005, during his second deployment in Iraq.

A fun day at school
Students who participated in a school fundraiser at Cranberry-Prosperity Elementary School sprayed their principal Becky Smith during a hot Friday. Smith was decked out in flippers, goggles and floaties during the fun. Smith paraded past students as they drenched her with water guns.
