Craft show to benefit Operation Underdog

FAYETTEVILLE — Operation Underdog is sponsoring its first Craft and Vendor Show, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department. The event is designed to raise money for Operation Underdog, an all-volunteer group that works with the Raleigh County Humane Society to save local animals. It assists in the coordination and adoption of pets, as well as promoting animal adoptions to the public.

At the vendor show, some 30 booths will have items available, offering jewelry, photography, primitives, home decor, soaps, chocolates, coal jewelry and other crafts.

Operation Underdog works to educate the public regarding responsible pet ownership including the importance of spaying/neutering. Volunteers also provide temporary shelter and care for rescued dogs. In addition to supporting the shelter in its rescue efforts, the group arranges adoptions for animals that were taken in from the community or pulled from the shelter when their time was up. It also provides transportation once a month to a low cost spay/neuter clinic near Charleston

Beaver Volunteer Fire Department is located at 146 Third St. For more information, e-mail Operation Underdog at
