Crews called when man falls from Endless Wall

— National Park Service Rangers are investigating an incident involving a rappeller who fell from his rope Monday afternoon in Fayette County, NPS spokeswoman Robin Snyder said.

The fall occurred along the Endless Wall, a 200-foot tall rock that is popular for rappelling. Endless Wall is located in an area known as Star Trek in Fayetteville.

The climber, a man from Vienna, Va., fell around 35 feet just before 7 p.m., injuring his lower limbs and back.

He was flown via helicopter to Charleston Area Medical Center and was expected to make a full recovery, Snyder reported.

Crews from NPS, Fayette County Rope Rescue, General Ambulance and Fayettevile and Ansted fire departments also responded.
