Lanark shooting investigated

LANARK — A shooting incident in the Lanark area that sent one person to the hospital  is under investigation by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Departmentís Detective Bureau.

The injured individual, whom law enforcement officers declined to identify, was airlifted to a Charleston hospital in critical condition following the shooting, which occurred around 3:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Police said William Brady Shelton, 30, of the Beaver area was arrested and charged with attempted murder, malicious wounding and wanton endangerment. Brady is being held in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $1 million bond.
