Brown seeks 28th District House seat

James M. “Jim” Brown, a Beckley lawyer, has filed to seek the District 28 seat in the House of Delegates.

Brown is a lifelong resident of southern West Virginia. He is a graduate of Hinton High School, Concord College (now University) and West Virginia University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the West Virginia University College of Law.

He has served as chairman of the Board of Governors of Concord College (now University) and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Resource Center, the local advisory committee of Appalachian Regional Hospital and the Board of Governors of the West Virginia State Bar.

Brown is a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, where he has served as a member of the vestry and senior warden of the church.

Brown says that he has a lot of pride in southern West Virginia and that he will work to develop the area’s potential for economic growth through business and tourism.
