Cox files for Wyoming County Commission

— David Cox, a lifelong resident of Mullens and Democrat, has filed to run for Wyoming County Commission in the upcoming May 2014 election.

Cox is married to the former Beverly Brehm and they have a son, Ryan Cox, and a 6-year-old grandson, Bryson Burrell Cox.

Cox served as assistant supervisor and county administrator of the West Virginia Division of Highways for 34 years until his retirement in December 2013.

He said, “I wish to continue working for the great residents of Wyo-ming County as their commissioner. I will work hard to bring state and federal funding, infrastructure, businesses and jobs to Wyoming County.

“I know every area of Wyoming County and have talked to residents throughout the county listening to their concerns. I have managed multimillion-dollar budgets throughout my 34 years with Highways. I have ensured that all funding and improvements were shared equally by our residents.

“I am recently retired and will work every day and try my best to make Wyoming County a better place to call home. We all choose to live here because Wyoming countians are friendly, hard-working, and honest. I hope as your commissioner we can make Wyoming County a safer and better place to live and raise our children and grandchildren in this county we call home.”
