Two people have been taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the Monday night robbery of the Glen Daniel Family Dollar store.
Jimmy Ivan Harper, 32, and Bobbie Michelle Harper, 33, both of Harper, were arrested Tuesday by troopers from the Beckley detachment of West Virginia State Police.
State Police said at approximately 9:30 p.m. Monday, they were called to the Family Dollar about an armed robbery. Police determined that two people wearing hooded sweatshirts and ski masks, carrying “club-like” weapons, ordered all store occupants, except the cashier, to the ground and demanded money. The two obtained an undetermined amount of money and fled the scene on foot.
State Police also say additional arrests are pending.
The incident is being investigated by Cpl. H.F. Blevins of the West Virginia State Police. Anyone with additional information regarding the crime is asked to contact the Beckley Detachment of the West Virginia State Police at 304- 256-6700.
