OAK HILL — Two people involved in an alleged drug trafficking operation were arrested Wednesday in Fayette County.

Crystal Hackney, 25, and Thomas Rader, 24, were each charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Members of the Oak Hill Police Department, Fayette County Sheriff’s Department’s drug unit and West Virginia State Police drug unit were led to the vehicle Hackney was driving after information led them to believe it was trafficking prescription pills to Oak Hill for street distribution, authorities said.

During a traffic stop performed by Oak Hill police Cpl. C.A. Young, officers confiscated more than $5,000 worth of Xanax and oxycodone from the Florida residents.

Hackney and Rader remained at Southern Regional Jail Friday.

Young is leading the investigation.
