BECKLEY — Beckley police are searching for a Mercer County woman they say is the second suspect in an alleged stun gun attack.
Eppie Small, 24, of 23 Redden Village, Bluefield, is charged with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of felony destruction of property and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony, Detective Cpl. Sam McClure said.
Small remains at-large, McClure said.
Tammie Sue Whittaker, 38, of 371 Country Hill Drive, Princeton, faces the same charges, McClure said. Whittaker turned herself in to police Monday and was released on bond.
The incident at the South Eisenhower Drive Microtel was reported after midnight Feb. 14, McClure said. Whittaker and Small allegedly attacked and robbed a 31-year-old female Mercer County resident in the parking lot.
The suspects, McClure said, used a stun gun to disable the woman. At one point, her purse was taken.
McClure said police believe this was not a random attack. Whittaker, Small and the woman were acquaintances.
Anyone with information about Small’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Beckley Police Department at 304-256-1708 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867.
