Two month investigation leads to resident’s arrest


BECKLEY — Beckley Police arrested two city residents on drug charges, one of them following a months-long investigation.

Officers arrested Elmore Tyrone Pannell III, 36, of Hunter Street on charges of delivery of a controlled substance.

The arrest came after a two-month investigation by the department’s special enforcement and drug units.

Pannell is lodged at Southern Regional Jail on $25,000 bond.

Police also arrested 24-year-old Jennifer Jagdon of Vine Street for possession of prescription pills for which she did not have a valid prescription.  

Jagdon was stopped in traffic by a special enforcement unit officer and drug unit officers were called to investigate. Jagdon posted bond and has been released from SRJ.

Beckley Police urge the public to report suspected illegal drug activity to the drug unit at 304-256-1844 or 304-256-1843.
