BECKLEY — The Women’s Resource Center will co-sponsor a workshop to offer policy training and advocacy training Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Dream Center.

Policy and advocacy training will be offered, as well as one specific policy area of your choice during the afternoon workshops.

Each workshop will culminate with a presentation from Sen. John Unger about how communities and politicians can work together to make change in the Legislature.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about how to make policy change in their communities and statewide is invited to attend, including ministers, working families, teachers, students, parents, social workers and more.

Beckley workshop topics include local and fresh food access policy, physical activity and chronic disease prevention, Medicaid enrollment, after school education, foster care reform, policies to expand early childhood home visitation programs and eliminating soft drinks from SNAP benefits.

The Dream Center is located at 224 Pinewood Drive, directly behind the Church of God Family Worship Center.
