TWV performing at VAMC

— Theatre West Virginia’s Educational Touring Company will share some love with veterans this Valentine’s Day by performing at the Beckley Veterans Administration Medical Center.

The acting troupe will perform songs from TWV’s two historical dramas, “Honey in the Rock” and “Hatfields and McCoys” beginning at 1 p.m. today at the hospital.

Children from Mabscott, Hollywood and Stanaford elementary schools made Valentine’s Day cards for the veterans that will be delivered by the TWV company, and the actors will also share some sweet treats with their audience.

TWV’s Educational Touring Company presents musical programs in schools throughout West Virginia, as well as neighboring states during the school year. This year’s production, “Miss Nelson is Missing” is touring elementary schools, while an abridged version of “Honey in the Rock” is being offered to middle and high schools in honor of the state’s sesquicentennial.

Members of the company include Rocky Cooper, Margaret Dalton, Terry Evans, Carrie Greenburg, Zachariah Judge and Lew Whitener.
