BAF now selling Classic badges

The first three years of The Greenbrier Classic Badges for Charity program has generated over $290,000 that benefited over 150 nonprofit organizations. The Greenbrier Classic will continue the Badges for Charity Program for 2013.

The Beckley Area Foundation, a registered Badges for Charity nonprofit, is now selling badges for the fourth annual Greenbrier Classic golf tournament, an official PGA TOUR FedExCup event taking place July 1-7.

It’s easier than ever to support your favorite registered charitable organization. When you buy your Weekly Badge, a percentage of the sale will come directly to the Beckley Area Foundation or another registered non-profit. If purchasers select BAF, they can designate which of the Foundation’s 372 funds should receive the proceeds by calling the BAF office at 304-253-3806.

Please visit www.greenbrierclassic.com and follow these simple steps: 1.) Select Buy Badges for Charity; 2.) Choose badge type; 3.) Designate the Beckley Area Foundation or your favorite charity; and 4.) Notify BAF which fund you wish to benefit from your purchase.

You can support endowments for the Women’s Resource Center, the Beckley Art Group, our YMCA, Beckley Little League, Just For Kids, the Youth Museum, Hospice of Southern WV, United Way of Southern WV, the Beckley Concert Association, the American Red Cross, a host of scholarship funds, the unrestricted pool for the benefit of the Community Grant Program, or dozens of other worthwhile area nonprofits.

There is a badge for every budget, ranging from $199 to $5,000, and all include passes to each day of the tournament and tickets to the Greenbrier Classic Concert Series with Kenny Chesney as one of the headliners.

The Badges for Charity program will help make a tremendous impact in our communities by once again generating hundreds of thousands of dollars for eligible nonprofits in West Virginia, Virginia and across the country.
