Girl Scouts plan recruiting event

Now is an exciting time to join the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond as a Scout or as an adult volunteer.

Stacie Bolen, membership development coordinator, explained that the Scouts have the next six months jam-packed with activities like a dance, World Thinking Day, bowling, a pool party and day camp.

“Tons of exciting things are happening at Girl Scouts. Right now our cookies are on sale and we hope to recruit new girls as well as some leaders for schools without troops so more girls can gain the experience of being a part of the Girl Scouts,” said Bolen.

If you’d like to learn more, Bolen invites you to a Girl Scout recruiting party on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Girl Scout Office, 820 Johnstown Road, Beckley.

In particular, the Scouts would like to find dedicated adult volunteers to help start troops at Sophia-Soak Creek, Hollywood, Beckley, Stratton, Clear Fork, Coal City and Stanaford elementary schools.

For more information on new membership or to volunteer, stop by the recruitment party on Saturday or contact Stacie Bolen at 304-252-9836 or
