The third annual West Virginia College Goal Sunday will be Feb. 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. at several sites around West Virginia.
College Goal Sunday is a chance for students and parents to have financial aid experts provide free help filling out the 2013-14 federal students’ aid application FAFSA.
Submitting a FAFSA is the first step for students who plan to pay for college with the help of grants, scholarships and/or students loans.
Financial aid counselors will also be on hand to answer general financial aid questions.
Those planning to attend should bring their Social Security numbers, 2012 federal tax return, W-2, other income records and a valid ID.
Each family who completes the Student/Family Survey during College Goal Sunday will be eligible to register for an iPad giveaway.
In addition to financial aid assistance, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be available to provide information and assistance regarding tax preparation.
