HINTON — Two individuals were arrested by Hinton Police Friday after being involved in a gas drive-off in a stolen car.

Chief Derek Snavely explained that Patrolman T.A. Withrow and Patrolman T.S. Adkins II located and pulled over a vehicle in Avis Friday night that matched the description of one involved in a gas drive-off in Sandstone on Thursday.

The stop led to the arrest of Alex Joseph Cline, 28, of Pipestem, and Autumn Michelle Coy, 24, of Hudson, Fla.

A records check on the pair revealed that Cline had a revoked license for DUI and multiple unpaid citations.

Police learned that Coy was a fugitive from Florida with two felony warrants for drug and larceny charges, said Snavely.

In addition, the car Cline and Coy were driving was stolen from South Carolina.

Cline and Coy were arrested with felony charges of bringing stolen property into the state and are currently being held in Southern Regional Jail.
