T. Paige Dalporto shares his musical talent at Tamarack

BECKLEY — A small crowd gathered at the Hulett C. Smith Theater at Tamarack for Sunday@Two this week, featuring T. Paige Dalporto, a local photographer, poet, songwriter and performer.

Hailing from Charlton Heights, Dalporto brought with him several photography pieces to adorn the stage, his guitar and his heartfelt, hand-written songs.

His musical style is eclectic, ranging from soulful blues to classic rock, and brings with it a wide array of emotions.

He said to the audience, “I almost put you to sleep with that last one. Now it’s time to wake you up.”

Longtime friend Paul Corbit Brown says Dalporto is really passionate about his music, which shows in his songwriting.

“He’s one of the underrated talents in West Virginia,” Brown said. “There’s a real soul to what he sings.”

He said he’s known Dalporto for the better part of his adult life and he has really made his music unique.

“He writes many ‘protest’ songs and he has a heartfelt connection to the state and land. In West Virginia, we define things for ourselves and that’s what he’s done with his music.”

Dalporto’s music is available at iTunes and fans can also connect with him on Facebook.

The next Sunday@Two at Tamarack will feature Todd Burge. Admission is free, but tickets are required due to limited seating.
