Spring Wine Festival to feature state wines

Wines from five different state vineyards will be available for tasting Saturday at the 16th annual West Virginia Spring Wine Festival.

The festival is being hosted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Daniel Vineyards, located at 200 Twin Oaks Road in Crab Orchard.

Admission is $10 per person, which includes wine tastings, a commemorative wine glass and live entertainment.

Participating wine vendors include Daniel Vineyards, Forks of Cheat Winery of Morgantown, West Whitehill Winery of Fisher, Watts Roost Vineyard of Lewisburg and Heston Farm Winery of Fairmont.

Wine tasting will only be allowed for guests 21 and older with a valid ID. Admission for ages 13 to 20 is $5 and admission is free for ages 12 and under.

Event coordinator Chad Fox invites everyone to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festival.

Food and craft vendors will be set up at the event, including the Raleigh County Animal Rescue, which will offer pet adoptions, and the Women’s Resource Center will be selling soda, water and coffee.

Fox asked that guests leave pets and coolers at home.
