New Jersey man arrested on alleged drug charges

— Beckley police arrested a New Jersey man Monday on drug trafficking charges.

Terrance Raheem Simmons, 36, was charged with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance after a Beckley Police Department detective and patrol officers discovered $3,000 in cash, heroin and cocaine from his hotel room during the execution of a search warrant, Lt. Dave Farley of BPD reported.

Farley said the detective had identified Simmons as a suspect during an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in the city.

Simmons was at Southern Regional Jail Tuesday afternoon in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
