SOPHIA — Raleigh County Community Action is accepting donations of career clothes for its “Opportunity Closet” now through Sept. 30.

Recommended items include blouses, coats, pants, shoes, skirts, suits, purses and other accessories.

“We had been thinking of doing a drive like this for a while,” executive assistant Tennille Limer said. “We participate in National Volunteer Week every year, but we’ve never participated in the Governor’s Day of Service. This is our first year and it’s a great time to help our clients.”

Limer said these new and gently used business garments could help furnish someone else with the confidence to enter the workplace, make a great first impression and get a job that could change their life.

Drop-off locations are the Central Administration at 111 Willow Lane (see Tennille Limer), Central Head Start (see Emilie Hedinger), Sophia Head Start (see Laura Lucas), Fairdale Head Start (see Shannon Pettery) and Action Auto Repair (see Christal Osborne).

For more information, contact Limer at 304-252-6396, ext. 118.
