Third man dies after wreck in Greenbrier

The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed the driver of a car involved in a Nov. 24 crash in Organ Cave has died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the accident.

Jason M. Hoke, 29, of Union, passed away Thursday at 3 p.m. at Charleston Area Medical Center.

One passenger, Dallas Nick Morgan Jr., 30, of Ronceverte, was dead at the scene Saturday at 2 p.m. A second passenger, Billy C. Hoke, 36, of Union, was flown to the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, and later died as a result of his injuries.

Cpl. G.R. Workman’s preliminary investigation indicated the driver lost control of the 1997 Nissan Maxima and struck a tree. The car then struck a second tree and broke into two pieces.

The report stated the front end of the car traveled about 90 yards before coming to a stop and all three occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

Workman also reported that when he arrived on scene, near Salem Presbyterian Church, witnesses said two vehicles were racing and the second vehicle left after the accident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department.
