New River College to seek input on program

New River Community and Technical College invites the public to an information session Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Dec. 19 to determine interest in expanding its Paramedic Certificate Program into Nicholas County.

The meeting will take place at New River’s Office of Workforce Education in Northside Shopping Center, 830 Northside Drive, Suite 160, Summersville.

Faculty from New River will give a presentation on the Paramedic Certificate Program, followed by a question and answer session. The Paramedic Certificate Program is an intensive one-year program designed to prepare students for careers as paramedics in a variety of health care settings as well as preparing and making them eligible to participate in the National Registry for EMTs testing program leading to national certification.

The curriculum provides students with classroom, lab, field and clinical experiences in a variety of emergency care environments and facilities.
