— Local country music group Taylor Made recently was named MusicRow Magazine Country Breakout Awards Independent Artist of the Year for 2012.

Taylor Made will accept the award Feb. 26 at the MusicRow Country CRS show in Nashville.

“We found out last week,” said band member Greg Duckworth, who is joined in the group by siblings Brian Duckworth and Wendy Williams. “It’s very exciting, especially since there are so many independent acts on the charts.”

Sherod Robertson, publisher of MusicRow Magazine, said the award is based on the greatest amount of overall spins on the MusicRow chart in 2012.

Duckworth said he is excited that Taylor Made, through Little General Records, is putting West Virginia back on the country music charts.

He said Taylor Made will hit the road soon for a radio tour, making five stops along the way before attending the MusicRow CRS Show.

Last weekend the band recorded six new songs for its new 12-track album that will be released in the upcoming months.

Its newest single, “That’s What Life Is,” is now No. 40 on MusicRow and No. 46 on Billboard.
